The vision for Small Groups at WRCC is to create smaller, more intimate spaces within our congregation to live out our church’s overall vision:
To be a life-changing community of authentic believers, passionately pursuing Christ, unshakably committed to His word, thoroughly equipped to serve, contagiously influencing our world for Him.
To this end, Small Groups at WRCC are defined as: A gathering of people who have an invested interest in coming together regularly to spend time in God’s word, pray, build intentional community, and serve in a size that is conducive for being known.
Currently, we have men’s groups, women’s groups, and co-ed groups. Furthermore, some groups gather around shared life stage while others are multi-generational. Tuesdays, Aug 25-Dec 8 | 6:30-8pm | Young Adults | The Garage
1825 is a community for young adults (ages 18–25) where they can grow in their faith, develop meaningful relationships, and live out the mission of Christ together at WRCC. Every Saturday | 9am | meet @ the Firepit
Enjoy God's creation while connecting with others who love the outdoors! This group explores forest preserves throughout Champaign, Piatt, McLean, and Vermilion counties. Each outing offers a choice of either a 1-mile or 3–4-mile hike at the same location. Master Naturalists often join the group to share insights about local plants, wildlife, and nature. Bring water and snacks as needed. Leashed dogs are welcome. Participants are responsible for their own transportation, though informal carpooling is often available, and all hikers assume personal liability.
2nd Saturdays, Sep-Nov | 10am-12pm | Fireside Room
Women of all ages and stages are invited to gather for meaningful conversation and encouraging fellowship through a shared book. Each month's selection is chosen to inspire spiritual growth, thoughtful discussion, and deeper reflection on God's truth. Read the book, then join us as we learn from one another in a welcoming environment.

This fall we’ll study Jesus' Sermon on the Mount in Matthew's gospel. We will focus on Jesus' preaching to the masses. We will also conduct in-depth studies on Jesus' authoritative words for healing, living, and sharing, by using Oswald Chambers book, Studies in the Sermon on the Mount.
Cost: $10
Our Care Groups are safe spaces where you can come to grow and process the difficulties that you are facing. Our leaders strive to foster an environment of compassion, understanding, and support.
1st Thursdays | 6-7:30pm | Fireside Room
Empty Arms is a support group for parents who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss. Founded by two mothers who have walked this journey themselves, the group offers a safe, compassionate community where grieving parents can find understanding, encouragement, and support. No registration is required—simply come whenever you're ready.

Losing a loved one is a difficult journey, and you don't have to walk it alone. This grief support group offers a caring environment where you can connect with others who understand your experience, find encouragement, and learn practical tools for navigating grief and moving toward healing. Registration is appreciated if you're able, but walk-ins are always welcome.

The holidays can be especially difficult after the loss of a loved one, as cherished traditions and memories often bring fresh reminders of grief. At this one-time gathering, you'll hear encouraging video sessions from Christian counselors and grief experts, along with stories from others who understand the journey of loss. Together, you'll discover practical ways to navigate the season with hope while experiencing God's comfort and healing.
