Insufficient Deceivers and the Total Sufficiency of Christ

Colossians 1:28; 2:4-5, 8-10, 16-23

Godly leadership needs to be a major concern for all those who minister in Christ’s name. We can argue persuasively that the Bible and the church offer the deepest answers for the problems of life. But if pastors or spiritual leaders trample on the trust given by believers under their care, it can cause such immense damage that those affected may not trust Christian leadership ever again. Toxic leadership is tremendously consequential for the ability of all ministers to serve effectively. In these passages, we’ll see the spiritual damage done by distorted leadership. Then, we’ll see how the gospel of Jesus shows a better way.
