Outreach Ministry Volunteer Team
We want to share God’s love with others within WRCC and out in our community. Volunteering is one of the best ways to connect with others and make a real impact toward our vision of becoming a life-changing community, passionately pursuing Christ. Below are the different opportunities available in Outreach Ministry, please note that some require registration.
ONGOING OPPORTUNITIES
Food Pantry Donations
Our Food Pantry continues to be a blessing to our community, and you can play an ongoing role in this vital ministry. We accept donations M-Th 9am-4pm and on Sunday mornings.
Suggested donations: gluten-free & dairy-free products, sugar, flour, oil, canned fruit, crackers, jelly, bread, ½ gallons of milk, cheese, eggs, and yogurt.
Eastern IL Foodbank Delivery
When: 1st & 3rd Thursdays
11am | Audience: Adults
We receive hundreds of pounds of food each month and need helping hands to handle the delivery. If you can lift and carry boxes, or help organize shelves, please consider volunteering. To help us plan tasks, please email Michelle to sign up.
Thursday Community Shopping Hours
Thursdays | 3:30-6:30pm
Audience: Everyone
The WRCC Food Pantry welcomes shoppers every Thursday during our Community Shopping Hours from 4-6pm to select items from our food pantry. Volunteers are needed to welcome and assist shoppers. There are two time slots available, 3:30-5pm and 5-6:30pm. Register at least one day in advance.
Saturday Community Shopping Hours
1st Saturdays | 11am-3pm
Audience: Everyone
Visitors from our community will be able to select items from our food pantry from 12-2pm. You can help by organizing food, assisting clients, greeting families, directing traffic, and praying with clients. Serving times are available in two shifts, either 11am-1pm or 1pm-3pm. Register at least one day in advance.
Serving & Shopping
at Salt & Light
3rd Saturdays | 10-11:30am | Urbana
Audience: Everyone
We’ll start the morning with orientation, and then split up in groups to help with sorting donated items, organizing, cleaning, and other essential tasks of this ministry. This is a great opportunity to serve and/or shop with your family, friends, small group, or co-workers. If serving, register at least one day in advance. As always, we also invite everyone to shop at Salt & Light anytime!
