GALATIANS 4:8-20
This is a strikingly emotional passage where the Apostle Paul writes with such intensity that he even feels the need to apologize for the sharpness of his tone. Yet his urgency is not misplaced. It is the language of love fighting for the truth. In this passage, Paul embodies the wisdom of Proverbs 27:6: “Faithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy.” While false teachers in Galatia flattered and manipulated through empty affection, Paul refused to soften the truth. Instead, he reminded the believers of what mattered most: they are known by God and called to walk in the freedom of the gospel.
