El Paso/Paseo Christian Church Mission Trip, August 30-September 3
Last year, eight people helped in El Paso, TX assisting Greg Hunt at Paseo Christian Church. Reaching out to the poor, helping with construction of the ministry center, and helping out with the Sunday morning worship service were but a few of the activities with which they were involved. If you are interested in going, come to the informational meeting on Sunday, May 27, 10:30a in Room 109.
Ethiopia, late June/early July, 2012
This year we will travel to Africa to minister to kids and adults alongside a local church. They visited and served this church and Compassion project, and also reached out to the surrounding community.
Dominican Republic, June 12-19, 2012
Each year our team to the Dominican Republic serves the people of a few villages around the city of Santiago. They have helped build a church and food distribution center, treated thousands of people in medical clinics, shared Christ with the villagers, and played with a lot of kids. Through all the serving of others, our teams find that they were really the ones whose lives had changed! Sixteen people from our church participated this year.
Peru, July 18-21, 2012
This year's team will take part in our fourth annual trip to an orphanage near Trujillo, Peru. Located 8 hours north of Lima, the Hogar de Esperanza orphanage is home to about 45 children. God's great desire is to bless the people of Peru through our team. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." We've been given a God-given opportunity to love kids that are, in reality, street children. The team will try to give these kids a full week of really focused attention and love; playing with them, teaching some of them some English, teaching them about Christ's work of salvation through Bible Study, and giving them some experiences, like going to cultural and historic places in their city, that they wouldn't otherwise have.
