God has stirred in our hearts a passion for justice and compassion for the most vulnerable of humanity. Our calling with Word Made Flesh is to practice and proclaim the Kingdom of God to children, adolescents and young adults who have lived on, are currently living on, or are at immedicate risk for the streets. We regularly visit the freeway overpasses and rented rooms where they sleep and frequent. In partnership with another organization, we hold weekly meetings inside a rented facility during which we worship, share a meal, play soccer, and offer educational and life-skills workships. Our hearts for the marginalized and oppressed continue to expand as we teach the application of biblical truths in the lives of kids in Lima.

I am in love with children! One of my passions is to love and shepherd children who do not have parents. I am currently working for Youth for Christ (YFC) in Mochundi, Botswana. I teach at the Tapologo Day Care Center in the 2's and 3's classroom and help with an after-school program for some of the older kids. This day care is open to children who have lost one or both of their parents due to AIDS. In both programs I not only get the chance to give kids an education and life skills, I also get to teach them about Jesus. One of the other projects that I am involved in is called Coffee Bar. this is a chance for the youth of Mochundi to come and hang out, play games, and enjoy some fellowship at the YFC office.

Katie is on staff with IV where she has served for the last 7 years. Katie's passion is seeing and facilitating the growth of new and young believers to become influencers and fully devoted Kingdom builders. This passion is lived out with IV as she mobilizes students to participate in witnessing communities that make Jesus known throughout the U of I. Katie co-leads the staff team and helps teach, organize, mentor, disciple, pray, and stragegize with students and staff to see God's purposes accomplished on campus. Katie also lends support to IV's staff training and development program that brings new staff to the U of I for a 2-year intern placement that helps prepare them for longer term ministry in other locations.

I am a campus minister with Axiom and the University of Illinois is my mission field. Axiom (a ministry of Christian Campus Foundation) is a relationally driven community of believers doing life together. We exist to make disciples of Jesus who, at the same time, are making disciples of Jesus and we seek to cultivate an environment where students can discover truth, take root in it and develop a faith that not only survives college, but lasts a lifetime. My time at the ministry is spent preaching, teaching, leading, discipling & mentoring students. My job is to pour into students . . . and I love it.

Lena and I seek to be people whom students can trust and to be faithful in pointing to the glory of Christ. In our ministry with New Life, the Ukrainian arm of Campus Crusade for Christ, we use those methods of evangelism that will allow us to build relationships with students, to fully and clearly present the gospel to them, and to help them start reading the Bible on their own.
