El Paso/Paseo Christian Church Mission Trip, Summer of 2011
We took a small team to El Paso, TX this summer to assist Greg Hunt at Paseo Christian Church. Reaching out to the poor, helping with construction of the ministry center, and helping out with the Sunday morning worship service. If you are interested in going next year, come to the Paseo informational meeting on October 31st, 12:15 p.m.
Dominican Republic, June 14 - 21
Each year our team to the Dominican Republic serves the people of a few villages around the city of Santiago. They have helped build a church and food distribution center, treated thousands of people in medical clinics, shared Christ with the villagers, and played with a lot of kids. Through all the serving of others, our teams find that they were really the ones whose lives had changed! Thirty-seven people from our church went on the trip this year.

Peru, July of 2011
This summer, a team of approximately 20 came together for our second annual trip to an orphanage near Trujillo, Peru. Located 8 hours north of Lima, the Hogar de Esperanza orphanage (www.perukids.com) is home to about 45 children. God's great desire is to bless the people of Peru through our team. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." We were given a God-given opportunity to love kids that are, in reality, street children. We tried to give these kids a full week of really focused attention and love; playing with them, teaching some of them some English, teaching them about Christ's work of salvation through Bible Study, and giving them some experiences that they wouldn't otherwise have, like going to some cultural and historic places in their city. Mission Trip Funds Request
If you are going on an upcoming mission trip apart from our WRCC sponsored trips, we want to partner with you in prayer and consider helping to fund your trip as well. If you would like us to pray for you, and if you would like to request funds for a short term mission trip in which you are participating, please use the following guidelines:
1. Obtain and complete "Request for Funding" form, available in PDF or as a WORD document.
2. Return the form, along with your support letter if you have written one, to the church office by April 25th. Forms returned late or too near your mission dates may be denied due to of lack of funds and/or time to process.
3. After receiving your form, the Missions Team will pray and seek God's guidance concerning your request. We will contact you about your funding by May 15th.
4. If funding is approved, please be prepared to report back (in written form) to the Missions' Team within one month after you return from your trip.
5. If you are participating in a WRCC sponsored trip (Dominican Republic, Peru, and El Paso) you do not need to fill out the Request for Funding form. Your team leader will contact the Mission Team for you and we will consider you for funding as well.
