Here are Jason's comments:
Dear Church Family,
With Randy in Nepal for a couple of weeks, I'm privileged to continue our study of James.
This week, we're talking about boasting, something I'm quite confident that I'm the best in the church at. ;-)
In 4:13-17, James writes to a group of wealthy merchants who were so consumed with profit that it overshadowed everything else in their lives. They were so concerned with money that they forgot about God's will. Good thing that's no longer an issue for us, huh?
Join us on Sunday to take a look at God's will and our responsibility.
Oh, and I'm sure you've heard the phrase, "When the cat's away..." Well, we've had a little fun this week in Randy's absence shooting a video in the style of "The Office." We look forward to showing it on Sunday.
If you can do 2 things in the next few days, it would be a huge help:
1) Pray for Randy while he's away, that God will give him safe travel and speak through him into the hearts of pastors in Nepal.
2) Consider attending first service if possible (9 am). Our parking lot is full second hour (a great problem, indeed), and we have our friends from Restoration Urban Ministry joining us this week.
Looking forward to worshipping with you,
-Jason Wetherholt
